Vistra President and CEO Recognized in Annual Power 100 List
LUTZ, Fla. (Jan. 30, 2025) – Vistra Communications (Vistra) proudly announces that President and CEO Brian Butler has been named to the Tampa Bay Business Journal Power 100 list for the fifth consecutive year. This recognition highlights his unwavering leadership and continued influence in shaping the Tampa Bay business community.
Curated annually by the Tampa Bay Business Journal’s publisher and editorial team, the Power 100 list highlights the most influential executives, developers, and key decision-makers shaping the Tampa Bay region. Rather than a ranking, this exclusive list recognizes individuals whose leadership and contributions drive progress and strengthen the local business community.
“It is an incredible honor to be named to the Tampa Bay Business Journal Power 100 list for the fifth consecutive year,” said Butler. “This recognition is not just a personal milestone but a reflection of the collective efforts driving innovation and progress in our business community. Tampa Bay continues to be a hub of opportunity and growth, and I am inspired by the leaders and changemakers who are shaping its future.”
Driven to address critical issues and drive positive change, Brian’s commitment to community is reflected through his active engagement with various local and national boards. Locally, the native Floridian established the CEOs in Schools program, placing nearly 150 CEOs in public elementary schools within Florida’s third-largest school district with the goal of facilitating partnerships and fostering education initiatives. He also co-founded the Advancing Racial Equity on Nonprofit Boards Fellowship Program to develop and equip diverse professionals to effectively serve on nonprofit boards.
As a highly decorated, retired Army Officer, Brian’s vast experience includes working in senior management as well as leadership roles in public relations, strategic communications, training, operations, crisis communications, plans and policy within the federal government and civilian sectors. He previously served as the Director of Bio-Defense Policy on the Homeland Security Counsel in the White House and held the roles of spokesperson and Chief of Communications for an Army Secretary, contributed to the Communication Team for the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and demonstrated leadership in managing large and complex organizations throughout his military career.
Brian’s inclusion in the Power 100 list for the fifth consecutive year is a testament to his leadership and dedication to driving meaningful change. His influence extends beyond business, making a lasting impact through philanthropic and community initiatives that contribute to the region’s growth and success.
The Power 100, listed alphabetically, will be featured in an edition of the Tampa Bay Business Journal. This group comprises individuals who, either visibly or quietly, play a pivotal role in shaping the region’s business landscape.
