Brian A. Butler, Founder and President Vistra Communications

Mr. Butler is a retired Army Officer with more than 25 years of military and civilian experience in leadership and management positions. He has extensive government and corporate sector communications and management consulting experiences.

He developed federal government policy involving homeland security and national security issues. He served on the Homeland Security Council in the White House and in key Pentagon positions during Hurricane Katrina Response and other issues affecting the homeland.

Mr. Butler served as Spokesperson and Chief of Communications for then-Secretary of the Army Louis Caldera. He served in Public Affairs positions in the Pentagon and coordinated media events throughout the United States and overseas.  He also served as a Senior Strategic Communications Advisor.

Having served as the commander of a large federal government production facility, he understands customer service, environmental issues, critical infrastructure concerns, lean management, business process improvements and the need for organizations to operate with fiscal responsibility.

In addition to the federal government, Mr. Butler worked in the Washington, D.C. office of Fleishman-Hillard International Communications and with a smaller global strategic communications firm.

Mr. Butler earned a B.S. in Marketing from Hampton University, M.S. in Administration from Central Michigan University and M.S. in National Security Strategy from the National War College, National Defense University.
